THE HALCYON COMPANY FORMS FIRST-LOOK DEAL WITH ELECTRIC SHEPHERD, PRODUCTION ARM OF THE PHILIP K. DICK ESTATE

Los Angeles (October 8, 2007) - A joint announcement was made today by Halcyon co-CEOs Victor Kubicek and Derek Anderson, and Electric Shepherd Productions' Isa Dick Hackett and Laura Leslie: Halcyon will have the first option to develop projects in conjunction with Electric Shepherd Productions, the Dick Estate's multimedia production company. Based on material from Dick's vast body of work, co-productions may include film adaptations, as well as television and other media projects. Details of the production slate are forthcoming.

"Philip K. Dick is one of the most gifted and influential writers in American literary history," said Kubicek. "We are honored to collaborate with Electric Shepherd on such an important and compelling body of work. All of us at Halcyon will passionately strive to ensure that the projects preserve the high-level of integrity he brought to the page."

Dick's works include more than 120 short stories and 45 novels, including Ubik (recently described as the writer's masterpiece by The New Yorker and deemed one of the "All-Time 100 Greatest Novels" by Time), The Man in the High Castle, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (adapted as Blade Runner), The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, and The Transmigration of Timothy Archer. Dick's novels and short stories have been adapted into nine feature films including: Blade Runner, Total Recall, Minority Report and A Scanner Darkly. Together these titles have grossed over 1 billion dollars in revenue worldwide.

"Our Father's library and legacy are deeply important to us and we will strive to bring the highest level of integrity to each project we produce under this new arrangement with The Halcyon Company," said Isa Dick Hackett. Laura Leslie adds: "Victor and Derek value the author's original vision and contribution - which is rare. They bring a keen understanding of the creative process, strategic funding and production support to our initiatives. "

"With future productions of Dick's work, we hope to attract talented directors, writers and actors who share the same passion for this material as we do. We are committed to achieving the same standard of excellence fans of Philip K. Dick's novels have come to expect," said Anderson.

Russell Binder of Striker Entertainment and Peter Levin of Bellrock Media were instrumental in consummating the deal. Christopher Tricarico of Tricarico Chavez, LLP represents Electric Shepherd Productions and provided legal services in crafting the agreement.
